NAFTO's Purpose and Benefits

Purpose

The Directors have established the following list of goals for the Association:
  • Promote and foster mutual cooperation between Field Training Officers, administration, private industry and the public.
  • Provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and new techniques.
  • Conduct training seminars and conferences.
  • Research educational methods to improve relevant training.
  • Educate the members and the public concerning apprenticeship training.
  • Enable the membership and public to keep informed of current statute changes and judicial decisions

Annual membership fee

The Association is designed to be owned, operated and supported by the membership. Therefore, an annual membership fee is necessary to support the Association. A moderate fee has been established with an expected maximum benefit return to each member. The annual fee for active or retired members of a law enforcement, Communications, Corrections or related training is $40.00 per member.

The association is soliciting new members throughout the United States. Persons interested in becoming State Directors or starting a chapter in their home state are also being solicited, especially FTOs or FTO Coordinators/Managers.
